WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

LINDA FOLEYMILLER – USA

Parallel texts is very helpful for me to be able to see both languages side by side continuously. It is helping me to learn vocabulary. I also like that I can listen to the pronunciation of the words. I would recommend the books to anyone who is trying to learn Russian.

ERIK D – SWEDEN

If you’re a beginner or false beginner learning Russian, I highly recommend this bilingual reader. It’s an enjoyable way to improve your reading skills and provides a great sense of achievement. With English translations next to the Russian text, it’s a stress-free experience that allows you to focus on the stories and improve your language skills. As a language learner myself, I find this book to be an incredibly helpful tool for practicing my Russian.

DAN FLICK – USA

These parallel texts are awesome.  There are 100 short stories.  This course is solid gold for beginners and intermediates for sure.  Every story that I have read has taught me something and I have been at this for a long time.   An example from the first story is it clearly illustrates that there are two words (at least) for pouring, one for liquids and one for dry goods.  I was unaware of this.  I did not even need to google for the definition.  The context made the meaning of the word clear.  Each story is short (maybe 10-20 lines) and packed with easy-to-understand and useful content.  Best of all, the recordings are included.   It only takes a couple times listening to fully comprehend every word which is a big deal for learning the language.   I wish I would have had this early on as it would have really helped.

JOSÉE SYLVIE TRUDELLE – CANADA

I like it very much. It is short and easy. It’s very helpful. Thank you! I like that some words come later in the same text, so we could practice them and recognize them. Also, there are many different subjects so we learn about many things. It’s really motivating!

FLAVIO – ITALY

I like that through these short stories you can learn many new words, and the option to listen to the text in slow speed is fantastic. The pdf layout looks great. I really hope that soon there will be volume 2 with verbs in the past tense.

CHRIS HUSHAK – USA

I am still working my way through it, but it is a good bargain. You get the parallel Russian and English text in two PDF formats, a large and small text version. The PDFs contain the rarest of the rare… actual accent marks! For some reason most other beginner materials leave them off. This helps make learning pronunciation MUCH easier. In addition, the normal and slow speed MP3 files are worth their weight in gold. I like to read along with the audio files or pause and repeat each sentence. The book helps with comprehension by asking questions about each story. There are multiple possible correct answers, so you can review the materials without the lesson becoming repetitive. I am very glad to have bought it; it’s like having a private tutor.

CLARA GULYAS – USA

I love parallel texts for language learning, especially at the A1-A2 level. I can read without having to look up every second or third word in the dictionary. I understand the gist of each story and can even answer the questions without too much struggle. Finding beginner material like this in Russian is not easy. Kristina’s texts make learning to read Russian fun and stress free.

MARTIN MEENAGH – UK

I very much liked this book. It taught me vocabulary, and worked alongside other online language courses which I have used to develop my Russian. Not only was it a good fit, but it brought me further along in my language journey. I would recommend it to others.

ANA – SPAIN

This book is really good and it’s helping me, even now that I’m at a higher level. It helped me to review vocabulary, learn some new words and analyze the cases on each of the sentences, so I could have a better comprehension. I would really recommend this book to any student who wants to start reading something in Russian but couldn’t find something appropriate for a beginner level. As the stories are short, you can’t get bored and you can start and stop reading whenever you want, not being afraid of losing the track.

VIVIENNE BANKS – UK

These parallel texts were so useful. Not only could I see the translation immediately but they came with audio which enabled me to read and listen at the same time. There was a lot of new vocabulary for me to learn that was so useful as it was vocabulary that is used in everyday scenarios. Just packed with things to learn.
