WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

DAN FLICK – USA

This was the second or third book of Christina’s that I have read and I loved it. I had probably watched the movie before but did not know the story very well. Because of how good this book was I went and bought the novel and read it (In English of course). It was a perfectly distilled version of the story that everyone should read. It also inspired me to watch the Russian version of the movie which absolutely mapped to the novel unlike the English version. The books are short and packed with all kinds of info and highly entertaining. It provided tons of useful vocabulary, a lot of which is reinforced several times which really helps it stick.

MARIA CULMER – UK

This has to be one of my favourite books of all time. I’ve read it a couple of times in English and would love to be able to read the original, but until then this was a great way to experience the book in Russian. The language and grammar were pitched at my level, the prompts coming in just the right places, and giving just the right kind of help. I would definitely recommend this. A lovely book, thank you Kristina.

JOHN GOSS – UK

There are a few greats here. First of all it is a great novel from a great writer. Secondly, even with so many gaps in my vocabulary, there are enough aids in the intermittent explanatory words and phrases sections to help keep up with the narrative without interfering with the flow. I must say that of all the teaching methods I’ve come across this is the best by far. Another endearing thing about this method is the diction when listening to the chapters. Every word is pronounced clearly.

CORNE LOMBARD – South Africa

I like the book. I bought it to improve my listening skills. It is difficult to follow every sentence, but I understood the story in general. I learned new words and was happy to hear the ever-so-popular verbs of motion being used in the text. I have passed A2 TORFL test, working on B1. The book is aimed at B1 level. I liked that the book has chapters, though some are quite lengthy.

WAYNE WALKER – USA

Tolstoy is almost completely unapproachable for me in the original Russian. The vocabulary that Tolstoy uses include many older words that are not common today. Because of this, I need a lot of help to understand his works.

Kristina to the rescue! I buy every reader as soon as I can without hesitation. I have learned that this is a great investment in my study time while also being very enjoyable. Kristina’s word choice has made this novel approachable for me. One day I may read the original, but until then, this is a great help.

Thank you.
