WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

SCOTT RITCHIE – CANADA

This book helped improve my vocabulary. It is a little bit above my current level of Russian but I just continue to read and come back later and look up words if I need to. I would recommend all of the books to other learners are they are a great way to expand your vocabulary and have fun while doing so.

RICHARD RODGERS – UK

It was useful and so much easier than a long slog through the full book even in English. The precis of the story was exciting to follow even if depressing in the end – and so faithful to the original! The language level was true to the level it was claimed to be and helped me maintain momentum in the study of Russian. Thank you for these helps to keep at the job of breaking into the Russian language.

ROBERT WHITEFORD – UK

This book is a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding experience for those who wish to improve their Russian through reading genuine Russian literature. At the start I relied quite heavily on the vocabulary notes but as the book progressed, I used the notes less and less. The vocabulary itself is cleverly chosen and key words re-appear frequently so that one gets familiar with them and how they are used in different contexts. You learn them almost without noticing! In addition to the text, Kristina’s reading of it at both speeds is crystal clear so it improved my listening comprehension enormously. I would highly recommend this reader to anyone who wants to improve their ability to read, listen to and understand the Russian language.

JONATHAN KOSCIANSKI – USA

Great reader to learn new vocabulary and start to appreciate this great novel. It is good to have this reader to dive into Anna Karenina in bite sized portions without having to start off with the whole novel. A great way to start off reading this advanced literature. The listening is also good and easy to understand.

LEONOR NUNES DE ALMEIDA ALVES PIMENTA – PORTUGAL

I chose this reader because Anna Karenina is my favorite book, which I have read twice in my own language. I hope to one day be able to read it in Russian, and this reader was definitely an important step towards that goal. It was such an interesting way to learn new vocabulary and sentence structures. I learned a lot in an effortless way, and the story is so captivating I just loved everything about it! I can’t imagine it should be easy to put over 700 pages into a condensed version like this reader, but Kristina did a wonderful job (as usual) and I highly recommend giving it a try. It was also perfectly suited for my level, what can I say, the whole reading was just a treat!

ALI RAZA HANJRA – PAKISTAN

Yes, I liked the book. Learned new vocabulary in the historical context and increased my listening comprehension related to the narration of the story. It felt like a bit advanced text for my current level of Russia. But with the help of the study aids offered by Kristina and the dictionary, I managed to enjoy it and improved my Russian language skills. I fully recommend it to all Russian learners.

ALVARO DIAS TELHADO – BRASIL

Leo Tolstoy’s book Anna Karenina is a social portrait of the high society of its time. Who doesn’t like Tolstoy’s books? This book is a suspense of acts of love, of marital infidelity. And a terrible attempt to keep up appearances. It is a book in which you learn a large vocabulary of the Russian language. I recommend a very patient reading of its contents. The presentation of this book by the excellent teacher Kristina is worthy of praise.

ROBERT FIALA – CZECHIA

I bought recently this book and I really liked it. Not only did I learn a lot of new vocabulary but I also liked the plot itself as it was written in a form that was suitable for my level of Russian. I used both the listening part as well as the reading. Before I started reading each chapter, I first tried to understand as much as possible while listening to it. I would not have dared read the original version of Anna Karenina, but this easier form was great. After finishing it, I felt like my Russian has improved. I can recommend it. After that, I set about reading other books.

DAN FLICK – USA

This was the second or third book of Christina’s that I have read and I loved it. I had probably watched the movie before but did not know the story very well. Because of how good this book was I went and bought the novel and read it (In English of course). It was a perfectly distilled version of the story that everyone should read. It also inspired me to watch the Russian version of the movie which absolutely mapped to the novel unlike the English version. The books are short and packed with all kinds of info and highly entertaining. It provided tons of useful vocabulary, a lot of which is reinforced several times which really helps it stick.

MARIA CULMER – UK

This has to be one of my favourite books of all time. I’ve read it a couple of times in English and would love to be able to read the original, but until then this was a great way to experience the book in Russian. The language and grammar were pitched at my level, the prompts coming in just the right places, and giving just the right kind of help. I would definitely recommend this. A lovely book, thank you Kristina.
